I got to visit the historic Hong Kong fabric market in Sham Shui Po in its last final days.

Established in 1978 and commonly known as Pang Jai, Yen Chow Street Hawker Bazaar faces demolition and will close on January 31st 2023.

Of the 50 stall holders, only 16 chose to relocate to Tung Chau street temporary market. The current market will be torn down to make way for a new public housing estate, despite attempts from concern groups to preserve it.

Hong Kong is loosing another important piece of its history.
