Yuet Tung China Works

Guangcai porcelain production began more than 300 years ago, experiencing different developments in techniques and style throughout history. The rirst porcelain factory in Hong Kong was established in 1928 under the name Kam Wah Loong, developing swiftly from 30 initial artisans to 300 in only 10 years.

Kam Wah Loong then became Yuet Tung China Works in 1947, changing its location a few times to finally relocate in Kowloon Bay industrial centre in 1987, where it is still today. The family who still owns it was super friendly and helpful. They took time to show me around, explaining the different types of porcelains and styles and how the business changed in time. I basically swam in old porcelains for two hours. Sweating cold every time I had to move around.
